Sending Church Workshop
The Missions Team would like to invite you to attend a Sending Church Workshop at Calvary on October 24 from 9am to 1:30pm. Ken Lorow from ABWE (Kent and Kelly Craig’s sending agency) will be teaching the workshop. This is an exciting opportunity for all of us to learn how we can be better prepared to send our own missionaries from Calvary and how we can better support our missionaries who are already serving on the field. We hope you will join us!

Workshop Description from ABWE:
You’ve preached the gospel, and it’s hit the mark. People in your church feel called to go and take the good news of Jesus Christ to the nations. Now what?
ABWE is here to help. As a missions agency with more than 90 years of experience in sending and caring for missionaries, we know the challenges and joys of sending your missionaries to the field. This workshop covers all of the basics, such as support raising, preparing for missions presentations, finding support contacts, and defining your missionary’s success. It will also help your church understand how to best care for your missionaries while they are on the field, when they come home on furlough, and how to take advantage of ABWE’s missionary care initiatives.
Through this workshop, you’ll learn:

- How can our church actively participate in preparing them?
- What do other sending churches do?
- What are the steps to Cross Cultural Transition?
- What are the Top 10 reasons missionaries leave the field?
- What are the Top 10 reasons missionaries stay long term?
- What is a “Care Team” and what do they do?
- What are the three areas of care the local church can give?
For many missionaries, the love and support they receive from their sending church is what determines their success or failure on the mission field. There’s no greater investment your church will make than the care you’ll invest in helping your missionaries spread the gospel to the nations.
Ken Lorow

God has called Ken and Eileen to serve with ABWE by supporting local churches and their sent missionaries. The Lorows have been in vocational, local church ministry for over 30 years. After spending 20 years in youth ministry, God led them to serve with Awana Clubs International as a Regional Director. During these years, the Lorows were able to engage, equip, and lead young people and adults through several international ministry trips giving them a heart for missionaries serving around the world. For almost 5 years the Lorows have served as part of the Africa Leadership team, shepherding and discipling those reaching Africa's unreached.
